International conference on the Great Lakes region (ICGLR)

Meetings were held on 4th - 5th 2024 at Sarova Panafric Hotel, Nairobi. 
The meeting was chaired by the chairman ICGLR - PSF and President of the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Eric Rutto.

In attendance were the Principal Secretary, State Department of Foreign Affairs Kenya, Remarks by the President Uganda Chamber of Commerce, Mrs. Olive Kigongo, the UHC Ambassador Eunice Kigenyi, other Ambassadors and representatives from the 13 ring states.
Discussions were about the opportunities in the Great Lakes Region and Business perspectives in the AFCFTA.
Strategic goals and objectives as well as responses, model implementation were discussed. 
The Great Lakes Investment and Trade conference shall allow participants to benefit from the opportunity to gain knowledge of the economies of the countries in the region, the institutional and regulatory frameworks in place to facilitate cross- boarder investment, participate in dialogue to improve the regional investment climate, promote responsible business conduct and build public-private partnerships in the region.
